family tradition
Since 1870
Christian Sitzler laid the foundation stone in 1870 with the founding of the saddlery and wallpapering business. Son Friedrich Sitzler initially took over the business, before grandson Fritz Sitzler converted the company to interior design in 1946 after World War II, including its own mattress production. Helga Sitzler-Liebhauser added fashion in the 4th generation and dedicated herself to interior design with passion.
today
In the 5th generation, Jens Liebhauser continues the spirit of craftsmanship with the founding of Cottonbabe™. As a trained interior decorator and today's 5-star hotelier, he is largely responsible for the design of the Cottonbabe™ collection. In particular, a puristic and timeless design characterizes the signature of the entire product line.
Products
Since almost no high-quality cotton grows in Europe, our premium cotton comes from the Indian highlands. The long-staple and tear-resistant cotton is planted locally, cared for and processed into the finest products on site in order to save on long transport routes. As the largest cotton producer in the world, India has built up enormous expertise in the cultivation and processing of cotton in recent decades.
Our trips to India
We have been to the land of spices, colors and temples several times and were able to convince ourselves of the conditions on site. In May 2022, Germany concluded the partnership for green and sustainable development with the government of India. We would also like to make our contribution.

Our goal is to become a pioneer in the area of home & hotel textiles in terms of quality, design and sustainability. By 2025, we want to be in tens of thousands of bedrooms and hundreds of hotels, bringing people closer to sleeping in style.
