When Cottonbabe Team Member Sebastian Sauer bought Bored Ape #6931 from NFL star Brandon McManus a few months ago, a number of creative ideas were set in motion as to how the luxury bed linen from Cottonbabe could take the first steps in the NFT / Metaverse / Web3 space .

What are NFTs?

NFTs, also known as non-fungible tokens, are works of art that only exist in the digital world. The blockchain ensures that, similar to the land register for a property, the owner can be identified at any time. The blockchain is therefore the security mechanism that ensures that ownership rights cannot simply be rewritten.
Bored Ape Yacht Club's Bored Ape #6931 is one of 10,000 NFT's, each with different characteristics. Together with the Crypto Punks, the Bored Apes form the most famous NFT series in the world. Neymar, Eminem, Snoop Dog, Heidi Klum or Justin Bieber, to name just a few, have invested many hundreds of thousands to millions of euros in order to be able to call a Bored Ape their own. They were then often uploaded as a profile picture on Instagram, for example.

Are there NFTs in the real world too?

Definitive! It is becoming increasingly common to see Bored Apes owners having them printed on clothing, towels or jewelry. We have now had the first luxury bedding made in the Cottonbabe design, which will also adorn the Bored Ape 6931. So far, however, it is a one-off and therefore not for sale.
